MeoowzResQ needs volunteers
to help in a variety of areas, including:
Foster Care for Cats/Kittens
We are always in need of new fosters. We
take in as many kittens as we can, relieving the local shelters
of overflow. The only way we can succeed is by keeping up our
network of volunteer fosters.
If you would like to foster kittens under 6
months old, you need to reside in or around the Orange County
area.

Adoption Fair Workers
You may volunteer one time, once every month, or as little or
as often as you'd like.
Volunteers are needed every Saturday or
Sunday for 3-4 hours.
Positions are available at various
locations. Main duty is to help show our kittens to people
who may be interested in adopting them.
Kitten/Cat
Transporters
We need help
from time to time with transporting cats or kittens. Here are
some of the situations in which we need volunteers to help drive
the felines from one location to the other:
- From
adoption fair in Buena Park to residence in Orange.
- Various
fosters drop off kittens at PetCo for our adoption event.
After the event is over, the kittens need to be transported
to a single residence, where they are held over-night
for a 2nd adoption fair. After the 2nd fair, fosters pick
the kittens back up that didn't get adopted. Our need
is for someone to transport them after the first adoption
fair. This helps give our fosters a break for the weekend.
If you've ever fostered before, you know how much work
it is.
- From various locations to veterinarian office(s).
- We
sometimes need to pick up kittens suffering from illness
or injury. These kittens need to be transported to our
local veterinarian for treatment.
- From
veterinarian's office(s) back to foster's residence(s).
- Once the kittens have received treatment,
we locate fosters to care for them until they can be adopted.
We need someone that could pick up the kittens from the
veterinarian's and drop them off at foster's homes.
- From
local residences to Humane Society or other place for spay/neuter.
- We
are currently working on a TNR program for a local cat
colony. Volunteers spend a lot of time and effort trapping
these cats. The volunteers work during the day, so need
someone to transport the cats to a local medical facility
in Garden Grove for spay/neuter. Drop off is Monday-Friday
at 7:30am-8am. This need arises abruptly, as we never
know for sure when a cat will be trapped. We need someone
who could help out on short notice.
- We
also need someone to pick up the cats the same day from
the medical facility, between 2-4pm and drop the cats
in traps back off at the volunteer's residence.
If you would like to volunteer with us, please
complete an application and contact
us via phone or email.
