Opus, Rescued Kitten - Success Story

Kitten Needing Surgery

November is generally a time when things start quieting down for shelters and feline rescues. Usually, kitten season is over, and by Christmas, there aren't any kittens. But in 2008, we still had kittens.

Opus was just a tiny thing when MeoowzResQ got him. And in November 2008, he was adopted into a loving family. Read below for the email updates we received.

Here are a few pictures of Opus. I still can’t believe how much his color has changed, look at that gray belly and gray stripes!

I want to thank you Dani for taking such great care of him and helping us with his tummy troubles.

He is now almost 4 pounds and about 4 months old. He is such a good boy and to my delight he’s definitely a mama’s boy. He loves all of us, but I’m his favorite.

Thank you for taking care of him so I could have him here. You do such a wonderful thing, Thank you again!

Here are a few pictures of Opus.

I bet you couldn't reconize him anymore. Opus1.jpg (see above picuture) is the picture from the webpage when he was such a cute pocket kitty.

The last pictures I sent was around Christmas when he went through his striped faze. That didn't last long though he is now mostly solid black except for a huge amount of gray undercoat.

He is almost 10 months old and 14 lbs, His tail alone is almost 16 inches. He is a big boy.

I just wanted to send you a couple of new pictures, and let you know he is doing well. He was neutered in February (much to his displeasure).

He gets some wet food at night and a wheat free dry food during the day. He now happily rules the roost. He seems to think he is a dog and loves water to the point he gets mad if he can't be in the shower with me, which I don't let him in most of the time because I don't want the Advantage to wash off.

He also has a habit of drowning any toy he can find in his water bowl, if it won't fit in the bowl and the toilet lid has been left up he will drown them there. He also still has his suckling habit and only my fingers will do.

Well I had better get in gear and get to work. Thank you guys again.
